WHAT DO I HAVE IN MY PURSE?

The things you wear in your purse say a lot about your personality.
We can say that inside your purse you have your personal belonging, your "small world inside a purse".

We can also analyze the outside, the bag you are wearing, that can also describe the type of person you are. It can be colorful, plain, black, big, small... Also depending on the occasion...

Could you go out on the street without it? Or you would feel weird and have the feeling that you are missing something important.

Things you can have inside your purse:
Wallet with - Money, Credit Cards, Pictures of close friends/family/ boy/girlfriend...
Phone
Bottle of water
Camera
Makeup
IPod
Cigarettes
Keys
Sun Glasses
Agenda
Gum/Candy
USB

...
For sure, if you check your purse you’ll find lots of things that you really don’t need, and others that are really important for you.

What would you like to find inside your purse and you don’t have?

KISS ME!

What is a kiss?
Let’s look in the dictionary:
1. To touch or caress with the lips as an expression of affection, greeting, respect, or amorousness
2. To touch lightly or gently
3. To come into light contact.
4. A small piece of candy, especially of chocolate.
5. to join lips with another person as an act of love or desire

So with those definitions we can see that kisses are really important, they even give the name to a candy.
Have you ever stopped and thought about it… what is a kiss? What importance do you give to kisses? Do give kisses to people you love every day?

Ok, we know there exist a big variety of kisses… Depends on with who you are; A family member, a friend, a lover, a really close friend, somebody you don’t really know, your chief…
We all have been in different situations where we have had to give different kisses showing different feelings to each person.

The ones that I prefer? The kisses you can give to your love! : )

You can say so much with only a kiss, you can feel so much with only a kiss…
When was the last time you kiss somebody? I don’t mean kissing a boy/girlfriend; I mean just giving a kiss to a friend or your brother? Think…

MAKAN EMADI

Took Ceramics for four years
During high school he studied sculpting
When he finished his psychotherapist career he found out that he wanted to return to the artistic world he had been in when he was younger.

What fascinates me from Emadi is his Islamic paintings which are divided into themes:
Terrorists and freedom fighters
Islamic Erotica
Femme Fatale
Abstract

All those subjects would be seen as normal in the Western Society, for example, some of the Art we have has to do with nude paintings and we find it something pretty and with a big meaning. In the Middle East they would find it offensive and against their culture. That’s why Emadi decides to paint the Islamic women with the burka, on, also for respect to them and the culture, but at the same time in a sensual way.

There are people that find those paintings offensive, and he couldn’t show them in some of the galleries he wanted to… What do you think about it? Is it right that he can’t show his art? I’m not going to give my opinion this time, I’ll let you guys think. It´s a really extended topic to talk about.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Here I’m going to put some of the picture I took for the workshop "Barcelona Vacia". It’s just some pictures we took before doing the final project, just checking the light and different perspectives.
Hop you enjoy them!

GRAFFITI

Graffiti has existed since ancient times. In modern times, spray paint and markers have become the most commonly used materials. In most countries, spoiling property with graffiti is considered vandalism, which is punished by law. Sometimes graffiti is used to communicate social and political messages. For some people, it is an art form to display in galleries and exhibitions; to others it is just vandalism. There are many different types and styles of graffiti and it is a rapidly evolving art form.

Nowadays Graffiti is a word that we always hear of, we could say that Graffiti is becoming a popular word. We can find people that consider themselves Graffitists and they don’t even know the origin of Graffiti, giving an empty significance to it. People call Graffiti whatever thing they find on the streets painted with spray, or esthetic image. Some of them can be considered Graffiti, with a meaning behind; others are only paintings or murals. Graffiti have a meaning, an evolution and a technique?

In the Graffiti world we find a new language adapted to it. For example, Boming is when a writer paints his/her name all around the city, Crew are the Graffitists that work in group, Going Over is the name given to Graffiti drawn on top of another Graffiti, Piece is the work of the Graffitists, Racking is when someone steals the sprays of another graffitist, Toy is a new Graffitist; the one that doesn’t have experience…

Other people have another point of view, they think Graffiti are not a street art or a way to transmit your inspiration or ideas, they say it’s just a way of vandalism, making the streets look dirty. What if a person makes Graffiti beside your house, or on the shop you own, or beside the school your children go to? It could be something negative for you and the people around you?

So, what we can say about Graffiti? Are they really art, or just a way to get our city dirty? On one side or the other, for sure we will never come to a specific conclusion; people have different ideas about it. What we can say for sure is that Graffiti will continue expanding.

FAMILY GUY :)

Family guy was created by a man called Seth MacFarlane. At first he did two shorts of 10 minutes each, one of them emitted in Cartoon Network. Thank to that the executives of Fox saw those shorts offered Seth the opportunity of creating a series.

The first Family Guy episode was emitted in 1999.

This series was canceled on February 14, 2002 and brought back in May 1, 2005.

One of the extraordinary things I think this series has is that Seth puts the voices to Peter, Brian and Stewie, and he cooperated with Mila Kunis (Megan Griffin Voice).

Another thing that I like is that each character has its own personality; they all have a thing that makes them special and different, and that’s difficult to create nowadays where everything is a copy of everything.

We can see that even if it’s a Cartoon series it’s not for children because of some of the words, things they refer to, gestures… Are not for kids to watch. It’s like the Simpsons, but the only problem with The Simpsons is that is a series that everybody has seen, and we all know all the episodes, they even did the movie (That I personally didn’t like) and Family Guy has taken over now.

50.000$ = Sneakers!!!!!!??????

Ok… Let’s just think… Would you pay 50.000$ for a pair of sneakers? … Even if you had enough money to pay for them?
I’m going to give you my opinion about it. I would NEVER pay that amount of money, not even half of it, for sneakers. Ok, I have never had that amount of money in my life, and I can’t afford buying those sneakers, but I think it’s just a waste of money. Even if I was rich enough I would buy other stuff, or invest that money or give part of it to people that need it. Nowadays celebrities receive so much money with movies, football games, advertising campaigns, going to shows explaining their lives or just telling lies; that they don’t know what to do with their money and they waist it in things like that, or even more unintelligent things that I will never understand, maybe cause I’m not in their position.
In conclusion I want to say that paying 50.000$ for a pair of sneakers is wasting/throwing your money down the toilet. But if you have the money, and you are willing to waist it on that you are free to do so!

FERIA DE ABRIL 09

At the beginning, La Feria de Abril de Sevilla, was a fair of cattle with some stalls to "celebrate the trades".
The first Feria de Abril took place in April 1847 with a big number of people and a great success.

Several years later it started to become a festivity with attractions, places where to eat, and installations to celebrate the local party of Sevilla.
Seeing the great result this fair had, the city council had to expand the place of the celebration and the publicity of the occasion.
In 1890 the first poster that annunciated the fair was done.
In 1914 the three days of celebration turned out to be five, and the sixth day was added in 1952.

Nowadays La Feria de Abril takes place two weeks after Semana Santa. The fair begins at midnight on Tuesday, and lasts six days, ending on the next Sunday. Each day the celebration begins with the parade of carriages and riders that make their way to the bullring, La Real Maestranza, where the bullfighters and breeders meet.

I think traditions are really important in all the countries; it’s a way of maintaining the people and the spirit together. It’s true that most of those celebrations have a commercial part to, but without them it wouldn’t be the same. Many Sevillan people achieve most of their money in those fairs. I also have to say that in this year’s fair workers have earned less money than other years, all because of the crisis?

I’m just against one thing, the bullfights, I have never understood them, I know is something that has been living in Spanish culture for a long time and I respect it but I don’t share it.

VIVA LA FERIA DE ABRIL!

Tattoos?

So... Just tell me, what do you think about Tattoos? Do people wear them because of their religion? To call attention? To express feelings? To represent something or someone? To remember an important person?

I think we can find all kinds of tattoos and all kinds of reasons to wear them. For example, I have two tattoos and I wear them because I like them, they have no meaning for me and love them!
The other day I was having a discussion with a guy about tattoos. I was saying that everybody is free to wear what they want because its their body, but that depending on the work you have wearing tattoos, piercings, a different haircut, or maybe just a weird nail polish is not accepted in the company’s policy. Its true that its not good to go to an extreme or the other. What do you think?

So, tattoos, something accepted in society nowadays? I think… yes, each day more and more.
